How do you keep maintenance records?

Just wondering on how you guys keep maintenance records. Currently, I just list all items on an Excel spreadsheet and stick all of my receipts in a filing cabinet, but this is far from the most organized method.

I keep a little notebook in my drivers door pocket. I log in every time I get gas, trip miles, odometer miles, amount of gas, and milage per tank. Whenever I have maintenence done it goes in there too. I also keep any records in a filing cabinet with the rest of my important stuff.

I put the receipts in the paper folder that came with the car, it's a little bigger than the owner's manual. Acutally there's probably no reason to do so because the only work I did was oil changes and 60k tune-up, everything else is warranty work. There must be (I kid you not) over 20 invoices at n/c. That probably would cause a prospective buyer to back out.

Keep everything (receipts, hand-written notes, etc.) in a folder in my file cabinet.

Me too. Every receipt goes in the back of the folder so everything is in order. Probably not the most organized but definately the easiest.

I have this little book I keep in the glove compartment, it has sections for mileage, maintenance, and repairs. I also keep all the receipts for the routine service visits (15k services) in an envelope. I usually stuff that pocket above the ash tray full of my gas station receipts and then empty it when it gets full. I emptied the tray last week, and found receipts from 1999!
