the sports/touring sedan market. This could possibly pose a threat to the M3 and S4...unless it's only availible in front wheel drive.

I love volvos for their engineering safety and their sleeperlike looks. Very solid too. Now if they made this in awd drive with t5 turbos running now that would be nice.

What you see in the picture is,

called a S60 Blue {*****} Bolt which is going to come out late next year most likely,it has a 2.5L I5 with 300HP and 295TQ through a 6 speed manual,it also should have 19 inch BBS wheels, and will have 4 wheel drive, and I believe will only be available in Mattalic blue hence the name Blue bolt.
Also the 850 Type are was made in I believe 95-95 then in 97 they called it 850 T5,it has 238HP,the only straight line perfpormance difference between the turbo and TypeR was a computer mod which can be purchased at IPD.It does 0-60 in 6.6 accorging to MT.

Re: more info on this S60

I never thouhbt volvos were fast intill last year I dorve my freind 850 turbo that he bought from IPD and they made that thing crank. He sold that and bought a V70 AWD T5R The thing is that the painted bumpers on it chip and scratch very easily and one main factor he does not like is that there is no 5 speed model. For a all wheel drive family wagon it is one of the best, gets good gas mileage to.

There's a sport sedan comparison test in this months C&D, that includes the Volvo S60 T5. Fastest car in the test with 246 HP. It still came in pretty far down behind the BMW 330, Audi A4 and Lexus 300IS.

Ford has nothing to do with the desing of the S60. Ford owns Volvo not long enough.
Maybe model year 2003 will show Ford influences. But the s60 certainly not.

Did you know that Volvo actually designs its cars as wagons first, then figures out how to cut them down to sedans? That's why they're so boxy and bland.

That's why the BlueBolt is AWD. The pictures I have seen look sweet.

My mom has an 850 GLT

with the rare color of Amethyst. Yeah volvo did have the 850 R in 96 it was a tight car. My mom test drove one. WOW!! We almost got one too but the payments would have been hella $800 a month. Too much for us. So we passed we were sooo close too. You barely see them around. I was going to order the front spoiler bumper and deck spoiler for my moms car like a year ago but she didnt want it though. Shes not too much into "modding". But she fell in love with that car. It was going to be black with factory tinted windows and some other stuff the dealer was goign to give us. But it didnt work out. MY family has lived around Volvos all of....well, my life atleast. Its a very great and reliable car. Wit our 85 gle it took us ten years to hit 100,000 miles ( of course it was in storage for about three years while we were in Germany) but now my mom is near 100k in five years going on six. It still dirves great Handling on it is awesome. Wish my car handled as good as my moms.

i think.......
vovlo does engineering and design and 50% final ok
ford contributes the raw materials and larger parts suppliler base plus the other 50% final ok

lets not forget that the C70 is already here and it is a sleeper. drove one..... serious kick ***. nice amenities 18in optional wheels, if only i could afford one.
