With the increase of H.I.D.'s coming standard....
Do you think that the current "illegal" bulbs will be considered illegal in the near future?
It seems that every new car is coming standard with H.I.D.s, so what about the look-a-like bulbs?
I talked to a police officer at my school the other day, and he said that the law might be changed?

I dont think it will change. It will remain illegal to run lighting systems that arent DOT approved, whether that be a big Hella rally array or HID conversions.
I dont think you'd get stopped with a *quality* HID kit that has shields to reduce glare and arent some over the top color (look really blue). If you blind a cop with the glare, he's gonna cite ya, but a good kit shouldnt do that.

The "legality" of lighting isn't based on market trends >>
It based on engineering principles. If these aftermarket lighting units don't meet specifications, they won't be legal. Specifications only improve with time, so it's not like they will suddenly allow less imperfect systems to become "legal".
