Using driving lamps under normal conditions...
I hate the beam pattern of the notoriously well engineered 9004 bulbs and was wondering if anyone here has used driving lamps/lights during normal nighttime driving...I understand most companies do not recommend them to be used under normal conditions and they should be used like high beams...but i was wondering if anyone here was able to use driving lights sort of like fog lights? any opinions are welcome(even the bad ones)...thanks...

No, you should use driving lights along with high beams, and fog lights along with low beams. Their beam patterns are completely different. Now I suppose you can aim the fogs up to be sort of like high beams, but they have a very diffuse pattern so the light won't go far. As for using driving lights in fog, you'll get so much glare it will hurt more than help.

Driving lamps do not have a proper pattern. Since they do not have horizontal cutoffs, you would have to aim them extremely low to avoid excessive glare. But in doing that, you would have negated any benefits of having driving lamps to begin with.

Does anyone know if driving lamps like the Hella DE Xenon's are legal to use with your regular low-beams?
