GTECH performance meter question

hey guys..
Ive been wondering if this Gtech meter actually works. I know some of u guys have it and i was wondering if its worth buying. It looks kinda neat to mess around with until i can get to the track or the dyno. Please let me know what u guys think. thanks.

More people say it works than don't. I just got one and it's pretty cool. It will definatly indicate any differences when doing mods.

It's not worth buying a new one for $140 when you can get a used one off ebay for $80-$100.

It's a bit of a PITA to use if you can't get the suction cup to stick to the windshield.

It's easy to use. I think it's worth it.

Yes I do and I agree it's pretty neat. I bought mine used for $90 shipped, and make sure you get the PRO model (which 80% of them are), the normal one had the custom-cup problem pmg mentioned above. They're easy to use once you know how, and worth $100 shipped but no more. I think most people enjoy it while it's new but after a while you will just throw it in the center console and leave it alone. I mean how often do you get to pull up on an empty road and gun it from a dead stop?

people who can't run real 1/4 mile at the track use GTECH to make them seem fast..

I've had one for a while and used it both on the street and at the track. It is pretty accurate, as long as you set it correctly, and it does show differences when you change out mods. It does have flaws though, it will give wrong info if you do not use it as instructed. The device compensates for different road conditions such as angle, hence the tilting of the meter to "zero" it out before starting. It is a little off on top speed readings, usually reading on the high side which probably gives credit to most people on here not putting too much weight on GTECH runs as opposed to true 1/4 mi. runs.

As someone said, it's worth $100 but that's about it.
