Car wash of choice?

With all of the car wash choices on the market - which do you all feel is the best? I'm thinking - something that cleans the best, doesn't leave too many water spots, and ultimately, leaves the best finish...

The best is a good ol' bucket of soap and water, towels and do it by hand. as afar as waxes goes Meiqures is pretty good for repelling water.

i prefer meguires gold something or another. its real thick stuff. that how i buy car wash, i hold it up side down and see how long it takes for the bubble to get to bottom. the zip wash by turtle was is not too shabby either. but in my opinion dont use the rain x brand car wash which supposedly leaves no water spots because it sucks and you might as well have just sprayed water on your car.

For the most part, the most important thing about any car wash is that it makes suds. The suds are what suspend dirt particles so that they don't get dragged across your paint while your washing. Suds, suds suds is the name of the game.

I'm pretty sure that water spots are from the water, not the car wash. It's the minerals in the water that leave them. I think if you used distilled water to wash your car in the sun, it would dry w/o water spots. But I'm not sure on that.

Basically wash your car in the shade and make sure you have tons of suds in the bucket.

Ditto...I use old #7 powder...I cant remember who makes it but it says #7 on it...just put a tablespoon in a bucket and yer all set...when your about 1/2 way done with the car and the bucket is half empty, just juice the bucket with a hoze and the sudz come right back real nice...doesnt leave any water marks either.
