That is really awesome dude! I can't wait to see your time with the ECU... BTW, shouldn't you have gotten a higher trap for that ET? Congrats

when u launch, is your car just grabbing and going, or is there some tire spin? any bog? i guess im trying to ask, since ur stock clutch is slipping from excessively high dumps, like, is it possible u could launch better with a ACT, or are u already reaching the limits of traction on the slicks?

HELLO...he was on SLICKS. He would get out of the hole faster than me, and that was it. The rest of the time I was right on his ***. Our 1/8 and 1/4 traps were nearly identical all day long.

If yes: Dang! Props to you man! Wassup with the 5th gens??

If no: Dang! Props to you man; you're It.

My clutch held up just fine this weekend and last weekend. Only the few runs I made at Rt66, which is widely known as the stickiest track in the entire country, were excessively hard on my clutch.

This weekend when I was running 25psi i was spinning the slicks a bit. When I dropped them to 21psi they just grabbed and went, I'd venture to say it was a perfect combination of grab and spin. Also, the time that I burned my clutch I dumped it at redline. Then on the next run my clutch was hot as heck, so even though I dumped it at only 5500, it burned the disk pretty badly. Now, I'm dumping it at 5500 rather than 6500 so that's a bit more gentle, not to mention the tracks I've been at this week aren't quite as sticky. So to answer your question, I've found a happy medium right now. If I had an ACT I could launch harder though. I'm by no means at the limit of adhesion with these slicks. All I'd have to do would be drop the pressure in them.

lophix-its the first time someone here has done it. maybe the 1st time ever, however it is concievable that someone, somewhere, has done it before and just no one on this site knows about it. its not the last time it will happen thats for sure, I can think of 5 guys right now who are all on the verge of it.

This timeslip clearly shows how much a good 60' really helps in the 1/4. Neal had a .2 second better 60', yet his ET was over .5 seconds better. Like many of us have said in the past, every .1 you take off your 60', you'll drop over .2 at the far end of the track.

Good job Neal.

hey I remember seeing in someone sig a while back that they hit a 14.00 @100.xxmph N/A. I dont remember his 60. Why were your traps lower? Size of rims maybe?

Anyone remember who this was?

slicks tend to make your ET better, but lower your trap speed some.

oh...sorry dude...I am just sick of people asking me why I can't "keep up" with him even though I have nearly the same go-fast mods.

Yes we both redlighted. That has nothing to do with your ET however. Your ET begins when you leave the line, be it early or late. It was just a test and tune session so there's nothing to DQ me from.
