Tint Spray Disaster!!!

I need some suggestions on how to safely remove the tint spray I applied to my clear corners and tailights.
i will re-apply the tint spray later on, but i need to remove the coats that already have been applied.
it seems i went a little overboard.
any help is appreciated. flaming not appreciated.
thanx

Wet sanding with 1000 grit. It will take a while, but if you are careful, you'll never know it was on there.

Guys, try the paint remover available from stores like Pep Boys, Kragen, etc. Just spray it on, wait a while and buff it off with plastic cleaner like the 3M plastic cleaner or Meguiars plastic cleaner.

Not that I can tell, just don't rub it once the tint is gone.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Tint Spray Disaster!!!

my advice is to hold the can far back from your corner lense(1 1/2 ft.). apply a few thin coats only. the tint spray alters the look of your bulbs. i'm redoing mine. but i'll probably only do two or three coats. the last time i made them very dark(seven or eight coats). it looks nice out of the sun but in the sun it comes out red???and yes i made sure it was black tint spray.
also in case you get a little to spray happy, pick up a can of acetone.
THANX to the guy who suggested using acetone to remove the tint spray. worked like a charm! good luck!
i'll let you guys know how round two go's.

Two light coats in a sweeping motion is all you need, do not spray directly at it.

I can assume you will take the corner lense apart with a heat gun...correct?I think it would be kind of dumb to do it on the outside of the lense.

Just checking.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Tint Spray Disaster!!!

I painted them today, but it didn't seem that the paint was there, so i painted closer, and screwed up. I used my mom's nail polish remover and it came right out. I might try to paint it again soon, dunno.
