Hi im new around here so I dont know if this has been asked before. I bought my gf a 87' maxima GXE she wanted more power So i custom built a CAI and had a nice flowmaster exhaust made for it. She still wants more power so I started looking into posible engine swaps. Does anyone here know if its posible to swap the VG30ET from a 87' 300zx turbo into her maxima? Being that im new here any advice would be appriciated.

 

you might want to check the fist gen / second gen forum.. i know couple of those guys are running boost..

they might have just the manifolds and engine work.. not sure

 

motor goes right in...I think you just need to add the knock sensor wire/PIN to your ECU and you should be set! I'm sure you'll have to move some stuff around figure out some other do-dads(fuel, ignition, etc.)but other than that you're in business!

cool...piping and radiator fan clearance is an issue as well. my buddy is finishing up the VG30ET swap into his 92 GXE 3rd gen...the actual swap is easy, its figuring out the little things what takes so long. You also might want to look into contacting Jim Wolf Technology, they made a custom 370cc inj./turbo ECU setup for my friend to work with the Max sensors and the VG30ET bottom end!
