Blue LED project finished? You be the judge!

I've had my 97SE Maxima now for 2 months, thx to you guys I've become addicted to modding, especially in the blue led area. 47 leds, $100, and countless hours discovering how and where to put blue leds I believe I have finally finished. Keep in mind this is only interior lighting. I've done all the common led swaps and I am fairly certain I have done a few never done before. e.g. Homelink visor Let me know what you guys think. After all this work I could use some reassurement that this obsession was worthwhile. If you can think of a place that a blue led would look good that I missed, please feel free to share. Here is a link to my site:

how about blue led valve stems? Sure it looks a little ricey..but some rice looks good. I personally wouldn't get them, but that's one area you overlooked.

BBaker025: Thx , You got a long drive ahead of you if you want my help!

tifosiv122: Thx

GLE02NJ: I would love to do the valve stems, neon, windshield nozzles, BUTT, here in FL they are illegal and as a member of a local law enforcement agency it wouldn't be a good thing.

I'll be researching the clock and acc display next, hopefully someone makes a display that will fit. If not I'll find a blue backlit clock the same size and drop it it. How's the ride on those bags anyway?

Damn, that's really nice!

On a side note, what size tires are you running? Those would be the biggest 215/55-16 I've ever seen if that's what they are...

Keyring light is easy except you need to run an independent ground wire for the negative side of the led, and you just pop the positive in half of the light socket. I can send a pic if you want.

mzmtg: I'll have to check on the tires, only had the car 2 mos. lol

Sean do you think you could do a write up on how to do all of the led's i'm sure it would even make it into the FAQ'S a lot of people want to know how to do this (including myself) Or just a write up on were all of the lights would be. THanks Brian, Oh yeah that is one of the best jobs on LED's i have ever seen it looks great.

For the clock and acc display get blue gels from a theater lighting shop and place them on the inside of the display covers. This will tint them blue. Not perfect but better then replacing the entire display.

Y2KevSE: Thx!

s2cmpugh & BC_95GLE: Thx, I'll see if I can do a write up this weekend on anything not already covered. You have to be very brave/stupid to try to do the homelink, geez it is tight! I just couldn't bare the thought of not doing the homelink and someone saying I missed it!

SuDZ: Thx, and I feel the same way, why am I so obsessed with blue, I dunno, here is a hint, got two wedding rings, one is titanium blue.

Myrv: That's a great idea, I had considered covering them but I had no idea what would work. Do you know of any companies off hand?

In what locations are you referring? I used 3leds in the dome and map lights and everywhere else just one to replace a single bulb.

thebigsadler: Send me your defrost button, I'll get it working!

I figured out the reason, the baterry voltage was low so the soldering iron was not hot enough to make the connection. wont happen again with my new voltmeter gauge.

anyways wow thats a whole lot of blue, you are worse than me with the blue. very nice job, but you are lucky to have the analog gauges, make the blue LED's for my digi was a major pain in the a$$.

Did u ever figure out the Cruse Control?

Lakeland, between Tampa and Orlando.

geo1317: Thx, yeah the cruise control was challenging but not near as hard as the Homelink.

Start buying leds until you have about 50 and in December we'll knock it out in a day!

225/60-16 In about 6mos I need to figure out what to replace them with, along with springs and struts.

We could do that. Let me recommend that you get at least 10 3mm blue leds along with the normal 5mm leds. I used all 5mm and some of them I had to shave down with the dremel drill. Also get a good supply of 330 ohm resistors, 1/2 watt is fine. If you plan on doing the gauges you will need 5 194 replacement leds, I've found the best so far to be from superbrightleds.com, also you'll need 194's for the doors, the glove box, the shifter and the trunk.
Links that may help:

www.superbrightleds.com www.eled.com www.radioshack.com

PM when ready

Max96LSU- Thx man, I love the BLUE LED!!!!
