Here is a breakdown of the parts used for the complete Blue Led Project.

Gauges= 5 x 194 replacement leds
Shifter= 1 x 194 replacement led
Glove box= 1 x 194 replacement led
Trunk= 1 x 194 replacement led
Door lights= 2 x 194 replacement leds

Security= 1 x 5mm led
Window swt= 9 x 5mm leds
Dome= 3 x 5mm leds
Map= 3 x 5mm leds
Vanity= 4 x 5mm leds & 4 330 ohm resistors
Homelink= 1 x 5mm led
Keyring= 1 x 5mm led & 1 330 ohm resistor
Ashtray= 1 x 5mm led & 1 330 ohm resistor

Acc= 4 x 5mm led & 4 330 ohm resistors
2 x 3mm led & 2 330 ohm resistors

Hazard= 1 x 3mm led & 1 330 ohm resistor
Defroster= 2 x 3mm led & 2 330 ohm resistors
Dimmer= 1 x 3mm led & 1 330 ohm resistor
Cruise= 2 x 3mm led & 2 330 ohm resistors

Totals

194 leds= 10
5mm leds= 27
3mm leds= 8
330 ohm = 18

So what does all this cost?

194 leds= 10 @ 1.59 = 15.90 via superbright
5mm leds= 27 @ 1.02 = 27.54 via superbright
3mm leds= 8 @ 1.56 = 12.48 via eled.com
330ohm1/2w=18 @ .20 = 3.60 via radioshack

Total not including shipping = $59.52

Question is, can you afford not to do this?

just a reminder that these will not work on 98-99 without some modification to the bulbs. And if you have Red needles they are not bright enough you will need a needle kit.

I'm not sure what the differences are between the 97 and the 98-99. But for 97's they are direct replacement 194's that have a led, resistor and lens all built in. As far as the needles go, all I did with mine was use a razor blade to remove the orange paint. The blue shines thru real nice.

Thx, unless they are easily modified I would suggest to others that they get some type of indiglo gauges/needles. Do you happen to know what the bulb replacement is on the 98-99 gauges? How many are there? Sean

Cool, I would love to do the ignition ring. Should have done write-ups for all those, or at least write down what bulbs you used where, you could be everyones hero!

If you have chrome door handles.... Install one on the outside shining down so it reflects off the paint and chrome. Imagine that on the highway... Also on the inside. that will look sick. or somehow lighting up the Nissan sign up in the front of the car.

Good job, looks really good. A few questions. I noticed your electronic climate control was off in your picture, is it possible to make the display blue? Same with the stock radio? And the radio buttons? Thanks.

ptatohed,

Thx , As of yet, I am unable to find a way to make the display blue on either the acc or the stock radio or the clock. Though I am thinking about experimenting with colored overlays between the led display and the plastic cover. Let me check on the radio buttons, I put the stock radio in my wifes sentra.

i really want to do the shifter light but can't seem to find 194 led's at radioshack. they all looked different and didn't look like any would just plug in. can anyone find or show me a picture of what they look like or throw me a part number? or give me some suggestions or direction? i'd appreciate any help.

Since were on the topic of blooo (my most favorite color) go to page 7 of my homepage and check out my PC and tell me what you guys think. My next computer project is gonna be water cooled enclosed in a custom arcrilic (I can't spell) case with ultra violet LED's and Cold Cathode lights.

I get a lot of my computer modding stuff from here

Nice job 97!!!!! I like the gauge cluster the most!!! Keep the BLOO comin!!!

hey remember me i wanted to do the same project has u. Well now i live in C.FL...just wondering how did u take out the bulb from the map light. And also where would be the best place to find bulb that would really be bright and blue. pepboy, autozone...etc. Also the glovebox bulb is pretty hard to take out too.
