Recommended Tires?
Recommended Tires?
I'm planning on getting 18s for my max and am not figuring out what kind of tires to get. Not the size, but what type. I'm looking for a tire that is reasonably quiet(something that doesn't make any EXTRA noise), excellent dry road traction and good wet road traction, and with a reasonably comfortable ride.
Anyone have any good or bad stories about their tires?
Thanks in advance!!

live in Tucson so I don't have much experience with them in the wet.
I also generally drive my 4x4 during monsoon season so that decreases
my opportunities even less. On dry roads they are simply the best
I have ever driven. I've had GoodYear Eagle "something", Pirelli
P7000SS, and Nitto NT-450 before the 555s.
In order of preference: 555, 450, 7000SS and then Goodyear. The
7000SS wears incredibly fast. The GoodYear (RSA maybe??) had nearly
no grip and the 450s were great. I dropped the 450s because I went
to 17" rims. I sitll have them for sale with stock 97SE 16" rims if
anyone is interested.
Anyhow, you'd be hard pressed to beat the value you get with the
Nittos.
Cheers,
JK
