#1
I found some info on a product that looks to be of use to DIY'rs. It is similar to the Techtom. its called the EZ-LINK OBD-II SCANNER. Their is a PDF of the users manual that explains more about its functions.
Look here for info http://www.autoxray.com/index.htm
The cheepest I found it was for $250 at http://www.partsamerica.com/
I might order one in a few months, they have a 30 day trial peroid!!!

You know, my roommate got one for his Eclipse last year for about $70 in a group deal. It's not the same, as his requires a laptop to use, but it is a helluva lot cheaper. SteveChicagoSC uses one of these also (that requires a laptop) and said that it comes in really handy. If you're interested and have a laptop handy, I'll find out some more info on this one for ya!
