Transmission questions.

ok when i got my car i got the extended warrenty that paid for itself lately.

My auto tranny may be dying and at the same time i'm boosting soon....... slight conflict there
I have two choices
1) drop the car off at the dealership and they put a oem nissan tranny in (4500 for the tranny)

or

2) Take it to my mechanic who can order the 2900 tranny from the guy in New York that's aftermarket and put it in my car; then through the warrenty, have nissan write a check to him.

I know it's kinda of shady or whatever, but no one is hurt at all... i dunno, post what you guys think.

That's the thing, I've had warrenty work done this way with several domestic manufacturers, but not sure about nissan, anyone else?

If there is any chance at all that Nissan will put in a new OEM tranny for free then why ask the question?

If it will be out of pocket you call around to find the best deal. the best deal doesn't mean price only, factor in reputation and service (etc.) .

well the non oem tranny is built. i.e. it's maximum tuning's tranny that is pretty much race built, claimed 2 be better than level 10's.
