You guys remember my thread about the ragtop thing...

Well....guess what I have now That's right, a damn big hole in my roof....I am going to make a claim to fame to be the first 4th gen Maxima with a full power ragtop installed in the world...I am going to take some pics this afternoon, and post them up, since I am working at the store, and driving the POS Honduh Passport today
Yeay, so excited...

SWEET! Alex I've wanted to do this for a long time but I'm just a poor highschooler. I've seen them on other cars and man do they look nice! If you don't mind my asking, how much did the power ragtop cost installed? (Although you probably got a hook-up...)

Yes, it was pricey, but they did an amazing job on it, and I can't complain, as the fitment was perfect, and there are no problems to report in four days of owning it....So I think it was worth every penny, and I am glad I chose the power versus the manual, as the bracing itself was all one piece, and seemed to be made of much higher quality than the manual crank style ragtops..

wouldn't that somehow effect the rigidity and structure of the whole car if it wasn't designed to have it?

but still very

The only "unsafe" cut was the center support brace of the vehicle (also known as the b-pillar brace), which runs from the driver's side B pillar and connects under the roof skin to the passenger side B pillar. All other connecting braces (A-brace, which holds the top of the windshield support, and the C-brace, which connects the two rear quarter panel/upper window areas) were left intact. Since Maximas generally have weak structural rigidity (so its been said), I was afraid it would make any difference, but it really didn't. There is no increase in flex that I can feel, but then again, my air suspension has a lot of give while cornering.... Nevertheless, I honestly don't see any downfalls of the ragtop, so I figured, may as well go for it

LOL@GTR....Yeah, I figured that I have dumped way too much money, so as you'll be able to see by my pics, I am just re-doing a few things, and then the car will be done. I will park it in the geeerage for a while, and take it out on nice days , while I drive the Passport everyday, and my Altima needs some attention, so I am going to start doing it up as well..

Well, the ragtop installed usually runs 950-1000. Since Rick Freeman (owner of Street Beat, who make/install the ragtop) and I do a lot of wholesale business, I got it for really cheap

I know its not a concern for you, but I wonder how that would hold up to a harsh winter...

Either way, not my taste, but very nice job.

Looks sweet! Nice matching tan headliner also. If I were you, I would test the water seal. Cover your whole interior with towels, then rince the top and see if anything leaks! BTW that price is not bad at all!

Thank you everyone for your opinions. We have water tested the top (went thru a power washing at the local carwash), and absolutely no leaks whatsoever....Once the interior is done, with the new body kit on the car , time to cruise the Max once again
