Stalling when going to neutral comming down from 4000 RPM

Ok, this is starting to get to me, it happened 3 times tonight.

Tooling along, passing people, getting up to 160Km/h+ (+++) go to neutral (stick to neutral, clutch engaged) to coast down to a more reasonable speed (140!), the car stalls!

So the car comes down from about 4000 RPM and then stalls. I can't seem to reproduce this parked, or even at low speed.

There is some weird combination going on here.

I really can't explain it to the dealer, much less show them!

Any ideas?

I'm not sure if a TSB has ever been issued for this but this was a problem on some 2000's. I had an issue similar to yours and so have some other .org members. For me it would happen when slowing down in a turn, push the clutch in and simultaneously brake, the engine would drop below idle and die. No engine = no power steering, no power brakes = almost lost control. Dealer updated the ECU codes right away because I explained it to them as a safety issue. Now, the RPM's still drop below what they should in the same situation, but it hasn't stalled since.

Go back to the dealer and don't leave until they flash your ECU with the latest codes.

My current solution is to, if I can remember, to blip the gas at 1500-2000 RPM. When I am parked, when I rev the engine, it will always brop below 500-450 RPMs before poping back up to the 600-650 range. (me drive-em stick)

Fortunately I have a decent dealer (120 miles away!) and the extended service plan. I may just be able to get away with it!

I was honestly thinking it was a vaccum thing or somthing like that.
