Vortech/Blower (oil leak) story
Vortech/Blower (oil leak) story
So as some of you may know I had an oil leak in my blower and I sent it to Vortech 2 weeks ago. I bypassed stillen and sent it straight to Vortech since all they wanted was the blower itself (I took off the plate and the pulley).
So I called yesterday and spoke with Jamie who was a really nice guy but he seemed a little shady. Yesterday he said that they tested my blower and found nothing wrong with it. He said they tested the seals and the bearings and all was fine. He then said it would be shipped out today.
I called him today to get the tracking # and while I was talking to him I asked him again about what the paperwork said. So he said there was "nothing" wrong with it but when they get the blowers back due to an oil leak problem they "automatically change" the bearings and seals.
All in all I am glad I am getting it back next week but the question that I asked myself was when he told me the blower was fine and that the oil may have been coming from somewhere else I thought was it? Or was it just bad seals and they just replaced them and told me it was never bad seals/bearings to keep it hush hush due to past V2 oil leaks and problems

So long as the problem is fixed and it's "no charge"...
Vortech has been around quite a while and I wouldn't concern yourself with the quality as long as it's covered.
Are you sure you don't have a lot of blow-by? or are you using a breather filter?

when I spoke to Jamie over there he said they replaced the seals and bearings but suposidly the seals were fine after the test. I have had the blower on my car for 6k miles or just about 5 months I think. He also said when they get a blower(s) back cause of an oil leak they automatically replace the seals and bearings

well. that's where you get the warranty.. the under 1 year.
be sure you check the oil return line hose for potential oil leaks.
also check your oil pan addon on the bottom..

yea and stupid me didnt question it and thought it was normal
So I get my blower back from Vortech wednesday and it will hopefully go in on friday night. I will be running a 3.25" pulley that should hopefully give me about 9PSI.
They said they replaced the seals and bearings when I spoke to Jamie at Vortech and when I got the invoice today it said minor repairs along with leak tests.
