Who told you that?

I don't know where people got the idea that there is a significant difference between this "99.5" model and other 99s. Some late 99s had different engine controls that were strictly related to emissions controls nothing else. They dont have 2k ECUs, they dont share any "internals" with 5th gens.

if you put a 5th gen fstb on a 4th gen car, your hood is going to have a nasty bump.

You still haven't listed which "internals" a "99.5" shares with a 5th gen...

Humor me...

Give me one "internal" part that is on a "99.5" and a 5th gen, but, is not on my 95.

Just to add to the confusion, if my 5th gen 2k was made in 6/99, wouldn't that technically make it a 99.5 as well?

since model years usally change in june/jul I would say NO... and here is the true answer to your question...NO

and johnvt1111 ..I have not heard of any internals on a 99 se-l.. just as mzmtg stated..BUT that does not mean that there are not any.. so don't get worked up... it still is an internet board.. and if you don't want to tell him or me fine.. but it does not help your case either way

my friend sent me a site which stated the some identical internals as a 5th gen, he stated the 99.5's had 10 more hp, and i disagreed with him, so he sent me this site, but the site didn't prove him correct, but it did say that the 99.5's and 00 had some of the same internal parts..........i'm trying to find the site

99s had NVIS as well, which I believe continued into the 5th gens. While working with my ECU wiring ALL of the wires matched 5th gen ECU colors rather than 4th gen ECUs.

I doubt there are internal differences, but the ECU differences are there and my car isn't even a SEL.

Nope 178 lb-ft @ 5600rpm / 5252 = 190hp

this thread is hilarious. Emerald: do you have a 99 se-l car? have you physically put a 5th gen fstb on a 99 se-l? if you have, then reply to this thread. if not, just believe what i say mainly because i've tried it. i'm not trying to bash you, but not everything people have said here on the .org is correct. happy halloween.

I only heard from "SOME" people that 99.5 is faster then the rest. Even the y-pipe is different. I would love to know the truth.
