First nitrous track times...

Now that I finially have everything working, I made the trip to the track for the final day of the season.

All times are with a 70 shot NOS dry kit, with Nitto Drag Radials on 300zx rims.

I was on a quest for high 13's today.

First run I had a really bad launch. Got a 60' time of 2.308. In addition I missed the shift into 4th. Ended up with a 14.129@97.64. I figured if I did everything right, 13's would be easy.

Little did I know that I would procede to f-up every other run that I got. Either I screwed up the launch (2.5 60's) or I'd miss a shift, or (my personal favorite) I'd forget to activate the damn nitrous system. . Because it was SO cold (34*), launching a pain in the azz. I never sprayed in first gear, because I knew I just wouldn't get any traction.

So, last run of the day I actcually do every right, and thought I had done it. Come to find out that I ran a 14.07@98.17. Got out of the car and looked, and sure enough my bottle pressure during that run had dropped from 1000psi to about 600psi or so. I was out of juice. The run just didn't feel as strong at the top end as the others I had done, so I knew something wasn't right.

Oh well. So ends a nother season of drag racing. Next year I'll be back with slicks, and more power one way or the other.

Not bad Ejj....you're about in the same situation I was in last year...I couldn't get into the 13s if my life depended on it. I ran 14.04@99 on a 50-shot....if you hadn't missed a gear when you had a full bottle you should have trapped over 100mph since you have a 70-shot. :P

hmm

300ZX rims. nice choice.
cheap, light, and dependable.

(the same does not apply to NOS)

I personally run 15s and reaching 14 will be a goal for next year. Maybe nos...yes. maybe. good job.
