Skidmarks in concrete...

Does anyone know how to get these *****es out?? I left a 15 foot skidmark in my front driveway, and I dont have a licence yet, and if my dad sees them, he will take away my Max and my future licence...

I tried soap and water, car washing solution, toilet bowl cleaner, shampoo, and nothing worked... if anyone can tell me how to get these damn marks out, I would greatly appreciate it... thanks

I think if you use a decent brush that is pretty strong so you can really scrub it it should come out.

Re: Skidmarks in concrete...

go to home depot and buy some acidic concrete cleaner (it'll be less than $15) and a very stiff broom... and have fun scrubbing.

btw, how long before your dad comes home? Do you have a day or a week?

Hopefully he is not on his way home from work or something.

What did you think was going to happen if you burn out in the driveway?

Find a friend with a pressure washer, I used to clean sidewalks and driveways with them.

Thanks

Thanks for the help... actually, my dad just got home a few mintues ago, but its dark out now, and I should be able to get something for it tomorrow. Ill try the brush idea first, cuz I already have a steel brush thing, but thanks for the other ideas. And btw, I figured it would leave a little mark, not a pile of tire tread...

You could also get driveway paint and say something like, "Look what
I did for you dad." Then again, if you're this irresponsible, maybe
you shouldn't get your license or have the Maxima.

Re: Thanks

I used to work with concrete... I think we used boric acid.... no matter the name, just ask for concrete cleaner, they'll get you the right stuff. It's very weak, but strong enough. A gallon of that and a stiff brush (get a push-broom to save time) will get most of it up.

The alternative is burn out on the other 99% of the driveway and tell him you sealed it (play dumb that you didn't know you don't seal concrete).

yeah, try to be careful with doing a lot of burn outs right when you turn 16. I was stupid and my dad got mad at me when he had to buy new tires, but only the front ones were bald (and this was on my 1.9 L 4 cylinder escort). You can burn up some tires quick with your 190 horesepower V6. Be smart when driving.

hahahahahaha thats great...

thanks for the help everyone, it should be gone by tomorrow.

Ill admit, I am a dumbass for doing that in my driveway, especially on 2 week old tires. But hey, I learned, and it wont happen again... (anytime soon )

Line the tires up with the far end of the skid marks, put the car in reverse, and do a backwards peel-out over the marks. Wait... I think Ferris Bueller already tried something like that. Face it... you're screwed!

Actually, as a last resort that's not a bad idea. Tell him one of your friends was showing off.

Hahahahahaha.....
if I told him the truth, I would get my pretty Maxima taken away, and if I tell him it was the neighbors, he would go ***** out the neighbors for doing that.

I think its almost out by now anyways. I got lucky yesterday when my dad pulled his truck into the driveway and pulled his front tire right exactly over my skidmark. The other side was under my mom's car, so I got lucky.

what exactly do you mean skidmark. did you drag the back tires or do a little burnout to cure your boredness

Burnout... I didnt even pull the e-brake, so it just skidded into my garage. But it left a very dark black mark.

Ask your dad what happens to a car when it has a Transmission problem... what does it sound like? Feel like? What does the engine do? Be all curious about it. He'll answer your question and most definitely he will ask you why you're asking him these questions.

Your answer:

I was trying to pull out of the driveway and the car just revved and nothing happened. It felt like it was in neutral or something but it wasn't. Then all of a suddent it went crazy on me while I had my foot on the gas.

Heh.

Now that would be perfect, except for the fact that my dad works for an auto shop and has been a master technician for over 25 years... he will take it to work and realize nothing was wrong with it....

might be worth a shot though.

Or could be more aggravated that you knowingly made him waste his time and look ridiculous doing it. I would pass on this one.

This is a good idea. It is the truth behind several burnouts in/around my driveway, as well as in/around a few of my friends' driveways .
