H4 HID kits from Taiwan

Hey .org-

I have been doing alot of research lately on HID conversion systems, and found this company in Taiwan. The prices they list are well below anything I have seen. I don't know if it includes shipping or not, but for those of you looking, it may be worth checking out. I will update once I hear back about shipping costs-

i remember growing up and having toys and such that were made in taiwan.
They'd all break within a week.

So who wants to be the guinea pig and order the first set?

They offer all different bulb sizes on their website, so I would assume the only minor mods would be wiring the kits and mouting the ballasts. I will probably order one in the next couple of weeks and report back on the kit.

shipping will be a pain... and cusrtoms can be a real pain, anyone who has dealt with it before knows... especially after 9-11

and shipping large amounts in the same package... is REAAALLLLLY tough hahaha

I tink after shipping it might be easier to purchase kits already in the US

That is dam cheap

Are these the kits for 240 to 295 ? I've seen these on ebay run for like 400. The sellers on ebay claim to use phillips ballast and phillips bulbs. From the pic, I can tell that the ballast are phillips, but I know phillips don't have 5000k, 6500k or 8000k bulbs. It seems like the ballast are phillips and the bulb is probably made in house. For 240, that is a steal! Can you get it in 9004 also...that would be great. I think everyone should be jumping on this!

Like carnal and trinity mentioned, the key here is going to be the shipping. Once I get a reply on the costs from the dealer, I'll post it here- stay tuned!

well let us know how it is if you order it. The Hanabi kits are a nightmare and have way too much wire length, so if this kit is more minimalistic and has better mounting methods, that would be cool.

I'll be in Taiwan later this month, if the deal is still lagging I can boost it up by paying them a visit or giving em a call

but I will NOT bring back kits... customs officials know me and dislike me on my last trip back i got stopped and searched by three frickin agents... sucks...

let me know how I can help

btw Taiwan makes most of the worlds LCD screens and 80% of the laptop components in the world (something like that) they make their own Cefiros there- unlike the US which can barely make any automotive crap good quality

all the McCollugh kits are sourced from Taiwan anyways... most of the HID kits are

just a note for ya, if you go to taiwan or any asian country, your suppose to put $5 bucks in your passport. If you do this in Vietnam, its a matter of waiting 2 hrs or 5 min... They have a quota in vietnam for each official to collect about $1500 per official per day..

Don't think that applies in Taiwan, it's a pretty modernized and wealthy country. Never had any trouble on any of my visits there to family. Vietnam, Thailand, and the poorer southeast Asian countries this does apply to.

I never get hassled in Taiwan... NEVER- I only get harassed by cops in the good old USA hehe the times I'm searched, its always upon arrival to the US
in Taiwan, customs agents are pretty straightforward, no crooked (not on the surface and not too anyone with just money)

and Taiwan... makes the USA feel backwards sometimes hehe

hey im taiwanese and just to let you people know that taiwanese are not poor. We'd probabaly one of the wealthiest asians. Maybe some that can compare would be the japanese and maybe another. But when you say poorI think you are referring to china, thailand, vietnam, phillipines, cambodia... countries of that sort. Usually stuff that is made like cr@p comes from china. Taiwan is pretty good and I'm sure all you know japanese make good stuff, very high quality.

hope i didnt step on ne other asians toes and taiwanese dont consider flips and cambodians as true asians. you could ask me why and i wouldnt exactly know, but i think its cuz taiwanese, japanese, koreans seem to think they are better than most other asians. ( and this is just my opinion so im sure others will disagree. im just speaking from my exp)

my 2 cents..

jae,

I talked to millow last week, and for small orders, he informed me it would be a 10% charge(# kits x 1.1), plus $40.00 shipping per kit. I see your shipping costs are a little more. Did he give you any more info?

I don't understand the 10% charge. do you mean 10% discount for every 10 people we get?
Someone suggested that everybody sends me money, I wire it over, they send all kits to me, and I mail out to you people. I would do this, but I got school 13hr/day. If someone else wants to be point-person, I can transfer the responsibility.

The 10% charge comes in because he is a volume supplier. He doesn't sell one kit here and one kit there--he supplies large dealers worldwide. The prices he originally quoted me are for volume orders(not sure how many constitutes a large enough order), which is why he stated if I wanted one kit it would be an additional 10% charge.

How about this. If someone commits to buying my MisterJung 9004 5200k kit for $360 shipped, I will sell that and purchase the taiwanese kit tomorrow. The only catch is, I would like to put both kits in my car and take/post pics for y'all to see.
Depending on how much time I have tomorrow, I will call the company directly and speak to Millow.

Ok, people, I'm gonna bite and purchase the kit first. Here's the next update. I don't understand his pricing scheme, except that dual beams are only $10 more than single. Also, note that high beams are done by hallogen bulbs, so nothing mechanical here. I will ask them to clarify the pricing scheme. If anybody can figure it out, lemme know. I'm cutting/pasting exactly what was emailed to me.

I haven't heard back from them yet, but I've decided to purchase anything they have in the 5000k range and 6000k range. I'll test them both out (I'd do the 7000k kit too but I don't have that much $...somebody commit to my misterjung kit!)
Hopefully tomorrow I can send them $ and get the kit quickly.
The Altimas.Net members are all over this too...I think we can come up with at least 30 buyers between .org and .net...if someone wants to drum up interest in the sentra boards, you're more than welcome to!
