NVIS Key Question

In a car with NVIS (the chip in the key), can take a regular Nissan key and have an extra made for the sole purpose of working in the door?

I don't need 2 to start the car, but I'd like to give my g/f a key incase I lock mine in the car. Right now she has the extra remote, but you never can trust those batteries.

Yes. The key cylinder doesn't have a chip.

You can even open the trunk with the key If you start the car without a chipped key it'll start, but shut off quickly as if you pulled the fuel pump fuse.

Not me. My trunk lock is busted. Strangly enough, it was busted on my 97 as well.

my mom has a 95 and if she opens the trunk using the button, it gets stuck and won't open. she must use the key.
