Congratulations to CustomMaxima.com

Hey,

I was flipping threw the latest issue of Super Street, and I saw a sizable ad in there for CustomMaxima.com. The graphic was pretty cool, and it had the 4th gen max with the skyline kit in it. Being a small business owner myself, I know what a great accomplishment it is to be able to have enough expendable cash within the business to do an advertisement in a major magazine; they are pretty expensive.

I think he should thank us as well

Congrats,
-Phil

He'll have even more expendable cash once those gauge pods start selling. Then people will buy gauges and other accessories, and as everyone knows, the biggest profit is in price mark-up on accessories.

That ad was payed for by charging $15 for shipping on engine wire loom that already has a 300% markup.

Yeah it means they're making money which is the purpose of business. However, I remember when their prices were a lot better.

I think their prices are reasonable for a retail web site that has a very, very specific consumer group. I believe their business model is based around providing many better-than-average products for a slightly more expensive "competitive" price. They have expanded enormously in the past few months/years and raising their prices slightly is to be expected. I think they should be commended for furthering the "Maxima movement" and providing us with new products and options. My beef is that I wish they didn't charge out the a$$ for shipping. $7 shipping for one freaking light bulb is a joke. I can guarantee you that if they lowered their shipping prices they would get more business......at least they would from me.

On the flip side, beggars can't be choosers. They're one of the few companies out there that are actively seeking out new parts for the Maxima. So in that respect, we have nothing to complain about.

well, I've met the CM people face to face, and they are decent types. I talk to them like every week on the phone lately about something I am helping them with.

Thanks for the congrats guys. For those of you who are not happy with our prices remember that as it states on our site we will BEAT any competitors price. Our shipping costs are actualy quite competitive compared to several other online retailers who have low website prices and high shipping to make up for it. We don't play that game. No one is forcing you to buy from CustomMaxima.com but remember that we have done more for the Maxima community then any other retailer and continue to work hard to get new products made too. Expenses and overhead go up as business grows, if I made the same pathetic profit margin now as I did when I first started CustomMaxima.com, we would no longer be in business.

Thanks to all of you who appreciate the hard work CustomMaxima.com does for the Maxima Community.

whats wrong with somebody making an honest living? not to mention he has new things designed for our cars, and you know that isnt cheap.. when you have them design something, he needs to guarantee so many of them, before he even knows if they will sell.. then theres bills, staff, some of you guys expect things to just be given to you, hes out there to make money, not to sell things for the price he paid

hes a pretty fair guy to me, and its good to see somebody out there selling strictly maxima parts, but hey there will always be people who have something against someone.. as for the shipping prices, if you dont like it, then either contact him directly about the shipping costs, or dont buy it

I only have one gripe against Custom Max....It's not their shipping, or crappy customer service, i've met greg, and he seems like a cool guy, but my only problem is that they WONT let us pick our stuff up!!! i, and alot of org members live no more than 20 minutes away from their warehouse, and we could easily save 10 dollars or more if we could just pick up the stuff....i dont get it

they don't have enough people in the office to support that function, Jamie. It's not like a store where there is a cash register.

Around February we will be in a new 15,000 square foot warehouse and showroom. At that time we will welcome any walk in customers and will have a larger staff to accomodate the increase demand.

That part is TREMENDOUSLY appreciated.

The gripe I have is that I e-mailed you guys 4 times about my wire loom. 2 times before ordering to inquire about shipping and 2 times after to ask why the hell the wire loom bled red dye all over my car. I was ignored on all 4 e-mails.

And I DO think that $15 shipping for wire loom is outrageous. It cost $4 to ship that at the most.

That aside, keep up the good work and get those 5th gen gauge pods done!
