A testament to why we bought Nissan and Infinity Vehicles
A testament to why we bought Nissan and Infinity Vehicles
I don't know if this was posted already but I thought it was interesting. We come here everyday and have fun by either posting kills, upgrades, questions or doing the occasional complaining about how our cars are p@#$ing us off with problems but it was nice to see that JD Power have recognized Nissan and Infiniti vehicles for their reliability, durability and long term dependability. We think we have problems but it seems like other manufacturers have a lot more.. Enjoy, the link is below. If it doesn't link up just cut and past it in your browser (preferably msn)

Too bad....
Too bad dealer service and paint quality were'nt put on Nissans Top priority list. Also I hate Nissan North America because we get the low baller, bottom-of-the-barrel cars over here, while Japan gets all the better versions and models.
I wish they still offered a Maxima wagon over here.
If I could go back, I can honestly say, as nice as my Maxima is....I can definately think of some other cars that would have done the job better. Engines nice( fuel consumption is on the iffy side.), but my auto tranny sucks(I can already feel it slipping under accelleration.

Re: Too bad....

That's the way it is for every non-domestic auto-maker. Also, when North America gets a car model, it's usually a carmaker's best model. The Maxima comes with several engine options in other parts of the world. In the US, we only get one, the best one.

If I could choose between a Japan spec Silvia and a U.S spec Maxima; I'm pretty sure which one I'd choose.
It is nice though to see the Maxima getting praise for it's engine...but that's all it gets praise for.
Come on listen!

But another camp has the money, wants the prestige and road feel, and is willing to pay. Think about it, a nicely equipped A4 is around 39-41k, and has less power than a Maxima. Those people aren't stupid, they're paying extra to get what they want. I know of 2 managers in my office who drive Maximas, and let me tell you, they both squeak (the people)!

SkylineGT-R// I think the skyline would sell over here. Remember, they make non-GT-R's too.
Why no Maxima GT-R? AWD "280"HP RB26DETT. They could have at least made it an Infiniti!
Seems like "Type R" worked for Honda.
Re: Re: Re: Come on listen!
Well, I look at it this way: if Nissan put a very potent motor in the 240sx, I'm sure it would have been called the 240z. Nissan was not going big time with the 240sx, hence its name. 155 hp wasn't bad at all at the time for an economic sportster.
EDIT: I meant to say NOT going big time

Sure the SR20DET is tunable straight from the factory and has a higher rev limiter, but that doesnt make the KA24DE a bad motor.
Its a great motor and I enjoy it in my 240SX. Sure I would love to have a SR20DET swapped in, but a KA24DE-T would be just as good.
