Flapping sound from muffler

Me and a couple friends were shooting a film of my car today to load it up here on minima.org, mostly so you guys could hear my duals. As we were playing it back, there was a weird noise coming from the muffler. It's a flapping sound, kinda like when you put your lips together and blow out air. I verified by having my friend revv for me. It's only in the low RPM range. It sounds almost like a flag flapping on a windy day, except obviously with the deep tone of an exhaust. I know it's the muffler making the noise becuase the other dual pipe (no muffler) isn't making such noises. The muffler is pretty old, it's a V-force flowmasters (40-series) that came off some camaro. Could it be corroded inside? It has progressively gotten worse over time. I was thinking of buying a new 40-series muffler, would that cure my problem? Hopefully some of you guys know what i'm talking about and can help me.

Or..I guess It would really be an 80-series since I would need dual inlets...gonna email Flowmasters too see if it's the same thing as the 40-series.

You sure you want dual inlets? It should have single in, dual out.

Stock replacement for a Camero Z-28.

Don't mind him..he's one of my friends..just trying to stir up trouble and is learning how to post here. He actually is in love with my car in real life.

Kirk, My muffler shop is gonna take a look at it monday or tuesday. It's almost like an airy rattle, maybe theres an air leak in the piping that connects to the muffler or something. If it is the muffler though, we're going to order another muffler. He says they make the Flowmaster 40-series for Camaro's with two inlets and an outlet, so that would be the muffler of choice. He says the 80-series is too big of a canaster.

Craig - you need a muffler with one inlet and 2 outlets. Remember - the duals become duals at the muffler. 1 inlet, 2 outlets.

Yeah I know what you mean, I just said it the other way. There's an outlet right beside the inlet, and then another outlet out the other side of the muffler.
