My friend and I were taking a short road trip last night? I was complaining to him that my Maxima get very poor mpg.. he said it was the way I drive. So we decided to take the car slow. We drove about 40 miles normal highway cruising not much traffic.. and hes like wow cause the gas tank went down a quarter tank quick.. anyway we were getting late much later that evening. So we had to jet back. which means forget mpg just go.. we just blazed.. 4-5k off the line.. we even hit some traffic.. and the gas tank didn’t even budge.. wtf, I don’t get it.. I can’t see any logical explanation.. do other people experience this also. Or is my Maxima special…

 

You ever notice how the feul gage moves slowly from full to half, but much faster from 1/2 to empty? Could that be it? Anyways, I think the gage was designed that way, so you pay more attention to the gage as the tank gets to the bottom.
