What is the T trim blower?

Mardigras-

Have you ever considered using a "dump" pipe?

http://lt1f-body.racenet.net/exhaust.php

Simply weld this into your 3" exhaust. I'd install it where the pipe goes parallel with the gas tank. Then I would have a shop make a bolt-on exhaust pipe that extends the dump exit pipe to just behind below the passenger door. I'd do this simply to keep the noise on the outside of the car and not under it. It would be a great track setup.

It's just an idea which would be much quieter around town than after market muffler. Aftermarket mufflers, regardless of make, resonate horribly.

i have seen alot of super street cars use this at the track yester day.. but its scary when you see 700 hp and the exhust is so freaking loud....

Yup, ive considered it. After the full 3" system goes on if its too loud or not fast enough I will try that for sure. its relativly inexpensive too.

I want to have the car tuned by the time the tracks open again. I dont want to be moding and tuning during racing season, I dont have that much free time available. My drag slicks also look very sad just sitting around.

Give three choice...

1) AWIC $1100
2) T Trim Blower $1200 w/exchange
3) 3.5L motor $1500

What do you guys think?

I really want the 3.5L, the 3.5L would have mad torque with boost. Plus it would give me time to do some basic port work on the heads. This would be in 8-12 months.

Matt I would suggest you do the 3.5L motor swap. With the other two, somehow I don't think they will be enough to satisfy you. That's the most expensive and time consuming though.

Do the engine swap! I wonder if it can fit? It's damn big! Or at least looks big! But if anyone can do it, you probably can! Imagine what that thing could do with twin turbos!

Have you considered putting in the RB26DETT?

A turbo.

Basically, S trim (say, SE-S, or GXE-S) is a SC and T would be a turbo, much like other cars (DSM's lets say) have GSX and GSX-T

[EDIT]
Disregard this...I'm stupid. See below.

A T-trim is a higher efficency version of the Vortech V1 blower. It will produce more boost/cfm from a given impeller speed. Basically its made for larger engines. I30Krab has one, IIRC he gets 14psi from a 3.25" pulley, where as I got 8.5psi on the standard S trim. Also air discharge temps will a bit be lower too.

I got the files and did a comparisson of my previous 10psi dyno to this one. The gains are really solid.

Do they make a T-trim version of the V2? Just curious.

Woops, I totally misunderstood what you guys were refering too then. I thought you were making reference to upgrading to a turbo...

Good to know though!

They make a V2 SQ "SC-Trim" which is a bit more efficient than the standard V2 SQ. Also the V2 SQ E-Trim which seems allot mre efficient than the standard V2 SQ, but it need allot higher impeller speeds.
