Is it safe to perform burnouts in traffic?

Traffic sux where I work in the Galleria area in Houston, and everyday I'm sitting in traffic trying to get home, so I see a lot of coworkers in their cars. I'd like to show them the power of the Maxima by doing a burnout while I'm waiting at a red light. My question is, is this safe? I've never done a burnout, so I'm not sure what could happen.

Before you do, get out and put some pillows under your wheels. Trust me on this one. Just ask eric...

There's a lot better ways to show your co-workers the power of the Maxima than ruining your tires in rush-hour traffic.

Not to mention the roads in Houston suck, I'd be amazed if you could find an even surface to even try to do a burnout.

I don't really think other people care about the power of the maxima. Nobody notices Nissans, Hondas, most Toyotas I have done burnouts in traffic though, not heavy traffic. If you keep the car moving straight ahead after the tires catch, you'll be alright, unless you run into the backend of someone. I would be quite upset if someone did a burnout right into the rear of my car. And you are right, traffic around the Galleria blows.

Do you have VLSD? One wheel burnouts are kind of lame, but that's just my opinion.
