I like it.....

wouldn't trade for my good 'ole 91 VG though , but the body style is cool!! I wouldn't mind a black one with 20% tint a decent body kit and some dual HKS Hipers on the back, gives it a whole new look! plus the acceleration is very nice, just don't put any clear Altezzas on it, they're just plain ugly!! good overall car though!!

its good to hear that, I see alot of people here that hate every car besides the max. Or just hate Hondas. The civics are ok but with out the stickers. The accords are very nice. I like the back end. Much better then the Maxima's. 4th gen front end of a max is the best.

My roommate has a red 2000 Accord V6 coupe. I love that car.. it rides well, handles well, and is very easy on the eyes. Only problem is it doesn't sound or feel quite as lively as my Max... guess that could be fixed though. The Accord V6s are great cars.

I'm a Honda person by heart, but I know a good car when I see one. Thats why I bought the Maxima. Although I wish I could get as much upgrade parts for it as I could if I bought the accord.

Before the Max, I had a V6 Accord. It was a nice car. The Max is definitely more fun and nicer in a lot of ways. But, I liked the Accord also.

Honda Accords

I also like their looks, and you are correct they can put down decent times if slightly modded. Dallas and I are in the process of making headers for the V6s as only one other company does this and those are VERY expensive. Hondas owners have soooo many mods to pick from, while it seems Maximas have alot fewer. There is room for headers on these cars, but its a tight fit. Will keep you all posted.

Acoords aren't bad. Pretty nice looking with decent power in the V-6. Prelude is the one i like. Those things are sweet. Civics i don't like though, because you see about 50 thousand on the road when your driving and another 20 thousand at the dealerships.

Very true...I have found that the Max VQ engine revs to redline much more effortlessly.

Get the coupe...the sedan just doesn't look right...Make sure its the EX...the LX is just plain cheapo... I like driving my Brother-in-laws 2000 EX V6 coupe. Very nice red color, not that super shinny bright red, more like deep red. The engine isn't as lively as the Max's though and I think the accord has a better steering feel. No Mechanical soul, engine just doesn't GROWL or make racing noises. Just a MOOOOOOOOOOO all the way to its shift points

No way!

My ex-girlfriend had a black '99 Accord. Now I growl every time I see one of those. Her fault, but I hate that car now! Phhhttt!!! My SE kicked its butt.

can't stand the gauge clusters

My gf's sister has the ex accord. I have always liked the car, but jeezes, what did they do to the instrumentation gauges--the speedometer is huge and it looks awakard, personally--and I rather like the way the Max has it--nice, everything is proportional and nicely fitted--gives it a pleasant feel.

i feel their quality has diminished since the old days...when I had an 87 honda...

I'm with you all the way, feels like a grandparents car...you know what I'm talkin about, like those BIG CLOCKS old people have. Not to mention the cloth seat material looks like a cheap version of the interior that was in my Grandmothers '86 Olds Cutlass.

It may be a very reliable car, but where's the fun in that? I drove a 91 Accord Coupe for 5 years and liked it...I've moved on to bigger and better things but that Accord was a good car. My wife needs somethinhg reliable so we got her a Honda, but I made sure it was one I could enjoy as well :-) The new Accords just don't have any magic to them, they've gone stale to join the ranks of the Camry.

my moms got a 97 accord v6

fun to drive, maybe its just me but the interior feels a hell of a lot smaller than the max. But the newer accord model is nicer I assume. Still a great car IMHO.

actually...

I personally like everything about the Accords except:
(1) No manual tranny w/ the V6
(2) The styling

I HATE what they did w/ the current generation of Accord.
The coupes are disgusting...I hate that wedge styling...
The sedan is not as bad though.

my mom has a 96 Accord 4door EX V6 and my sister has a 98 3.0 CL (basically same thing). Both are nice cars, ride nicely, great interiors. Just a good reliable form of transporation that doesn't have any personality.

If you're talking about the Accord V-6 coupe then yeah, it's pretty nice, especially with the Black Widow kit

well, i still wouldn't trade my max for a V6 accord though.
i live in irvine, ca, and there's like a million hondas here.
i mean, people made fun of UC Irvine as University of Civics and Integras....i didn't want to drive yet another honda here.
plus, as far as reliability goes, i think nissan is better than honda. cuz all of my honda owner friends, they all have problems with the power window motors(they become sluggish after the first oil-change...) and other power accessories.
i'm not saying that Nissan does not have such problems, but just saying that it happens in lesser intervals.
besides, in Japan, the meca of Japanese imports, Nissan and Toyota are considered top quality cars, not Hondas.

buying an accord has one definite advantage though; AFTERMARKET SUPPORT!!!

there's probably thousands of companies making parts for that car.....compared to us, the accord owners have almost infinite possiblities with their cars....
