5spd 4th gen..

5spd 4th gen..

does everyone's 4th gear bounce ur stick around when u let the gas go or decelarate???

i get it sometinmes, usually when i let go of the clutch too fast or shift too early in to forth. and im sure that the ACT dosent help either, im just hopping that some new engine mounts will help

wat i mean is...i'll be already driving in 4th...and then let the gas go for wateva the reason..and my stick moves...was just wonderin if this is normal...happens to 3 5spd 4th gen dat i've driven...95, 96, and 98...

This is the one advantage of the new cable shifter. No vibrations go through the shifter.

That is normal; maxima's shifter is connected straight to the tranny by rods instead of cable like those found in Toyotas. That's why every vibration of the tranny is transmitted to the shifter.

i think thats a good thing. I an easy way to tell if there is some thing wrong, i prefer being able to feel the car than to be detached from it.

nah bro *** a lot...i totalled my car..bought a 98 gxe black on black w/ 140k miles for 5200 out da door...not i'm drunk as shiet...

yeah...i made that my #1 priority...then black interior was the second...den if possible black exterior...being that it was gonna be a used car i wasn't too picky w/ the exterior color...

Me too. The vibrations from the VQ are not irritating at all. I drove a cable shifted 6 speed max with the cable shifter. It was easier to throw, but I felt detached. And the drive by wire throttle really made me feel detached. It was like some IT guy on the other side of the network was getting back to me about my throttle input. "you want WOT? OK, here"

My car does the same thing and mine's a '92. Hmm, it must be genetical!
