Sooner or later I'll replace my factory BOSE in my '93, reason I'm asking is I already have a Kenwood CD changer from my Celica that hopefully will hook up. It;s a couple years old. Shall I spend the $$$ on an Excelon or will a base Kenwood unit be good enough? I'm not a die-hard audiophile but I want more than the BOSE system

 

I have Kenwoods in both cars. Previous to now, I have always has SONY decks and Kenwood amps, but I just dont like the way the SONYs look and function anymore. The Kenwoods head units are great. I have a KDC-315S in my Jeep and a 415S in the Maxima. I'm not sure what the advantages to the eXcelon system are, but I would definately recommend the Kenwood name going forward.

i ordered the X815...the unit is awesome...i usually get sony but they are CRAP!...i was gonna go eclipse or alpine but i got a deal i couldn't pass up

 

I love my Kenwood deck...I have the 715S The excelon will give you a 4.5v output for your amp instead of a 1.5V, I think, and a couple of other minor things.

I have a kenwood 807 with MASK. Definitely a kick *** deck. I have had three of these so far. I had a Sony Mobile ES Deck which also was good, but they dont make dem like they used to.
