Girlfriend, you got something going on with your throttle body. It could be the IACV sticking or just a dirty throttle body. If you clean both of them and it still does it, start looking at the MAF.

I'd vote for something with the MAF too. Also check the hoses going to the intake post MAF, I had one of them come loose one time and this happened.

whelp, if your alternator isn't charging your battery enough, then when you brake, the excess electricity going to the brake lights and power braking could push your car to die. Check your battery reading before anything else, to rule this out.

If your car is a 5-speed, you need to push the clutch in when you are braking if the RPM's are less than 1000 or so. If it's not a 5-spd, then I would suspect your battery also.

what a no0b-ish response. And how is this off-topic? Hopefully now ppl who read this thread will learn that the word "brake" is spelled b-r-a-k-e, so that the next time they decide to give information, they won't look like a fool.

Have you done Ben's ECU mod, aka cutting the tranny speed sensor wire on your GXE? If so, this could be the culprit, I noticed that when I have my speed sensor disconnected (it's on a switch) my car does the same thing.

I think it's a vacuum thing, and when you apply the brakes there isn't enough manifold vacuum to work the brakes and keep the car running sometimes, it's a very direct correlation, it happens every time I flip my governor switch.
