maximas dont have stationary antennas??? but anyways. you have to remove the antenna nut, grab a wrench and a towel....wrap the towel around the nut so you dont scratch up your paint.......turn it......and it should pop right out

you didn't mention what year... my year the instructions start with "break glass"
seriously, there's usually a nut at the base or on the underside, but eventually (when you replace it) you'll have to pop the hood and get under the panel. The hardest part is probably going to be getting access underneath.
