Motor Trend top speed test
well since every one is talking about Motor Trend, peep this article from MT July 1995 -
"The Maxima SE continues to suprise us. First, there was its blazing acceleration - 6.6 seconds 0-60 mph-and near-sports-car handling in a luxurious, comfortable, affordably priced family sedan. This time, our '95 Import Car of the Year produced an astounding top speed of 142 mph. Not only did the Maxima come with in spitting distance of the MR-2 Turbo, but check out the chest thumping cars that failed to make the 140 mph cut to get into this test: Ford's Mustang Cobra, Mustang GT, and Taurus SHO, plus the Chervolet Impala SS- and this despite the fact that Nissan's normally aspirated 3.0-liter DOHC V-6 makes far less power than any of them. Staying in character, the Maxima runs this awesome pace with no drama: At 142 mph the Nissan is as solid feeling and confidence-inspiring as many cars at half the speed. With a functional price of just under $22,000, the Maxima SE is the cheapest way to transport five people over 140 mph."

I remember that one very well....
The Mustangs sucked so badly because (the reason they gave) was the headlights. The gaps caused air to slow the car down. After applying duct tape to them, they were faster. I remember the Volvo Turbo Wagon only being 2 mph slower than the TT Z.
Add a Y-Pipe and Intake.
I managed to top out with 3 people in my car and it took half the time to get there compared to just me in the car when it was stock.. The Y-Pipe seems to add a LOT of top end power.
With just me in the car and half a tank a gas 140 is so easy to hit it's not even funny.

I never had the time to get past 125. Yea, it may do it but it takes forever. Plus, my max does 0-60 in 7.4 sec. Weak.
