An LS1 F-Body with those mods is LUCKY to go 13.4s here. The quickest NA F-Body at KCIR runs lower 12s @114. His mods are a cam, heads, headers, NO exhaust, NO rear interior, full slicks, 12-bolt rear end, 6000rpm launches. With a 100-shot he gets mid 11s in the mid 120s.

BTW, the altitude in Kansas City ranges from ~950' to ~1200'. Believe me, I work for a civil engineering firm, I know these things KCIR (my track) sits at ~1080'.

Dave
Your track must really suck or you have a really bad DA all the time.
Steele is 500+ft above sea level, if your only at 1100, that's not as bad as Bristol TN, it's at almost 1400ft I believe. I ran at Beach bend on a colder day than this past Saturday, but they didn't prep the track very well, and it was overcast. I had to baby it out of the hole then go easy in 1st and 2nd getting a lot of wheelspin. I was still running 12.8's at almost 113mph.
I was cutting high 2.1's running that time too, so cutting 2.0's at Steele made the difference. Steele has great track prep, most tracks can't handle my 1-2 shift, Saturday I didn't get almost any wheelspin on the 1-2. Heck crappy tracks make me break loose on the 2-3 and sometimes even the 3-4 shift.
We have to drive 3 hours one way to get to Steele, so it's not like it's close for us, but the trip is worth it. I fine it worthless anymore to go to less than awesome tracks in less than great weather. Why beat on the car when you know you have no chance of bettering your best time?

Exactly! Good point. I have never been to the track to race my car without bettering my time. If the conditions are not significantly better or if I don't have a new mod... then I won't. My entire purpose at the track is to better my time.

Well, I really have no other choice to race at KCIR. Most tracks aren't open for Grudge Racing on the weekends therefore I'm not going to take off from work early to try my luck 4 hours away in St. Louis. There is a track 1.5 hours south of Kansas City I'm going to try running at to see if I can improve my time.

Yes, it sucks not being able to get good ETs, however my trap speeds are some of the highest for the 4th gens, so I know my car is plenty strong. Racing, even when not breaking records and/or getting crappy ETs, is a release for me because I'm racing my car legally and it's fun to hang out with friends and watch others race.

I speak the truth when I say stock LS1s go high 13s low 14s at my track. Stock 99 GT Mustangs get mid to high 14s, Type Rs get lower to mid 15s, Z06s go higher 12s lower 13s, etc. I've been racing at this track on a regular basis for over the past 5 years. Yes, the track is slow, but overall it's a good time.

Thanks.

BTW, I see my friend has a 98 GTP for sale at his car lot for $6,500, hmmmm. Not much on GM, but those are pretty fast, and have lots of performance potential. Its dark green and I believe its loaded, plus I can get some more $$$$ knocked off since I know him.

I really want a 97-99 Maxima SE 5 speed, but finding the right one is taking forever. I may buy something in the interim.

Damn that's fast. Good job. I've never been out there to Steele. How far is that from Tuscaloosa? I used to run my Civic hatchback at the Atmore Dragway north of Mobile.
