The numbers flying around right now show promise. I like the fact the headers give their biggest gain after the hp peak. I compared my dyno when I had the USIM, CAI, and cattman y-pipe to Cattman's header dyno with intake and cat-back exhaust. FWIW, the headers didn't show an appreciable gain until 4k rpms. At 4k rpms there is a 5hp gain. The headers hold a +/- 5hp gain until 5.5k rpms. At 5.5k rpms the headers gain was the highest, about 9 hp. At 6.0k rpm the headers hold a 3hp-4hp advantage. Again take this FWIW, but for me there's enough here to be interested and to support Cattman's claim of higher hp with the headers.
Now back to the real world. The y-pipe will still be the best bang for the buck mod for the maxima when installation costs are considered. The true value and hp gain of the headers over an performance y-pipe has yet to be determined for us NA guys. I think this will be a no-brainer mod for supercharged guys.

Also, will you consider 2nd party testing of your designs. refer back to previous links about power gains, etc. (?)
Wasn't there a thread a few months back with Emax and others proving that the header/"Y"-pipe combo showed gains over stock exhaust, BUT the gain came mainly from the "Y"-pipe and not much from the header if any because the "stock exhaust manifolds" are already efficient as told by Don? forgot username (VB guy) and others....

I believe emax swapped his 02 manifolds for the 00-01 manifolds. Not exactly aftermarket. As to Don he just modified the exisiting manifolds. There was no experimentation in modifiying the shape, length, or diameter of the manifolds. As to the NZ headers I don't believe they ever had a dyno for us.
Everyone is aptly aware that the gains of a header over a performance y-pipe may not amount to alot. Then again maybe it might.

I remember someone testing them, but I forgot who. But in DaddyMac's post he mentioned a few months ago so I assumed he ment ethan's 2k2.
Did the NZ header guys ever provide a dyno? Sometimes it seems ethan should have his own forum for all the stuff he tries.

Brian, I understand that multiple installs on the same car will end up costing you more $$ initally, but it will help current Y-pipe owners decide if they want to go ahead and sell their Y and buy your headers, or keep the Y.
If your headers make more power than the Y-pipe alone, the costs you incur will be worth it for the increased sales.
Per Nissan's 2000 and 2001 Maxima brochure, they keep braggin about the VQ30DE-k already having equal length headers
I don't know how much you'll gain for a 2000-2001 Maxima. Anyone? Nice job Brian, I just wished I hadn't forked over money to buy my Y-pipe already.
