This pipe now has a slight bend in it to do away with the filter rubbing agains the battery. I'll Let Steve come in and give the details on his new product.

Looks like you have the apexi filter. How do you like it? Any difference between it and a previous filter? I am waiting on my to get here.

If you guys left the bottom half of your airbox in, which does nothing more than provide more air, then you wouldn't have this problem at all.

I agree, that lower airbox allows fresh air to funnel in right around the filter. Why remove it?

Underneath my car I have a 4inch opening (facing forward) that leads up to a 3inch pipe, that connects to where the resinator pipe did on the stock snorkel. This along with the snorkel mouth that is above the radiator I hope will feed plenty of cool air into my engine bay for the JWT filter and velocity stack. I even fabricated the midpipe so that it is much shorter, so the filter will reside right on top of the opening of the lower half of the stock box.

Midpipes are easy to make, I have made two for under 25.00 total, for two different applications. I agree that you should leave the lower portion to try and feed the filter cool air.

Dave & Cyrus: Well, I'll put the lower half back in just for you guys.

Bigdogjonx: That's Steve. I don't where leather jackets like that.

I30tMikeD: I haven't notice any difference from the Mosterflow and the Apexi as far as power but the sound seems a little throatier with the MosterFlow.

Bags: You're probably right but I was thinking about painting the cover of the VI Concord Mist along with the midpipe but that's all up in the air.

That's the first thing I noticed about the pics. I'm liking these midpipes. I wish my intake tube didn't have to curl around the battery.

These pipes are also lighter and I like the fact that the pipe now has the flanged ends on it.

Dave
I removed mine because the unfiltered air was dusting up my engine bay...when I removed the piping leading to the filter, the engine didn't get dirty as fast. i couldn't tell any difference w/o out that piping.

thanks for posting the pics deezo, we are very happy with the overall design of the intake, rolled edges, we have our new silicone couplers, and t-bolt hose clamps too. we hope to have the highest quality intake system on the market in a very short time from now all for one of the lowest prices. we haven't set our price for the new midpipes, but we do expect a minor increase(5-10) to cover the new design elements. we also will ahve the new 5th gen pipes our in late march/early april along with our exhaust system look for the same high quality standards on all thsoe too.

Steve, are you gonna make one for the VE? you think that one will fit the VE? Do you remember the 4th gen PR CAI midpipe I had on my car at the CT meet? You took a look at it for fitment, it almost didnt fit because of the angle of the pipes. Looks good Deez! I see the mod virus has a good hold of you.
