omg i got quoted $528 for a sunroof wind deflector. Can you believe it? aklsdjfa;lsdkjfads FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS for a freakin piece of molded plastic. It's so ridiculous, even the parts manager thought it was such a ripoff. Well, at least I got my oil filter for $6.25.

So... junkyard for a wind deflector the best option? I dunno how those aftermarket ones are tho.

It's probably $52.80. There is no way that he read that right, unless it was a typo or something. I know they only cost about $50 though.

Yeah that is defintely a typo... probably a glitch when somebody was entering the price into the system. The VentShade ones are usually pretty nice, if you want I can sell you one for $527 shipped. www.JCWhitney.com - $50.

alright thanks guys. I thought it coudln't be THAT high.

I can't believe it, stupid Nissan didn't gimme a copper ring w/ the filter!! I read in a post that nissan does give copper rings. Oh well, ill get some next time. Damn a first oil change done by myself is kinda costly lol, or i'm just really cheap. Check out what I bought today that totalled a little over $40:

- 4 bottles of Mobil 1 SuperSyn ($4.51 each at walmart)
- Nissan OEM filter ($6.25 at dealership)
- Oil Pressure Switch ($5.50 at Autozone)
- 1 1/16 Deepwell Socket 6pt ($6.00 at Autozone)

Now tomorrow I gotta go out and get a 14mm wrench combo ($3-4), jack stands / hydraulic lift ($15-20), oil pan ($??), and MAYBE the filter removing tool ($??). Hopefully all this will pay off in the long run!

why the hell did you spend so much on synthetic oil. From every single mechanic, car guy, car friend I asked they all said putting synthetic in a car is no good and completely pointless...

Roof, Sunroof, Air Deflector, From 9/96 $74.30

That must mean $92.88 list price. That is a total rip-off!

They do not include it with filters. YOu have to order them too. The parts guy told me that one copper rings can be re-used a couple of times more. They are but cheap.

You think $500 is bad? Wait until you have to fix this kind of damage.

Not my best photography. The curved white line that you see is where the deflector has eaten thru the clear coat and down to the primer. There is a matching spot on the other side. I just got this car. This occured on a car that's only one year old with 29,000 miles.

look closer to the lower right corner of the sunroof, there was a white scratch mark left by the deflector.

I don't know why the parts guy didn't ask if you wanted it. At least next time you'll know to ask for it if they don't ask you.

well!! I completed my first oil change all by myself! I now have the satisfaction it was done right (I hope lol). blah, where's the cheapest place to get synthetic oil?! I need to start buying in bulk so it wouldn't cost so much per bottle. Well this was a nice $50-$60 oil change lol. Well most of the money went to the tools I'm gonna be using over and over again in the future when i change oil
