Just installed the ACT street clutch. No chatter at all.

I've only driven it 40 miles but there was no clutch chatter at all. Don't quite know why everyone else was having problems.
I have good motor mounts that have been window welded(it's too soft IMHO). Tranny mounts the same but were in good condition anyway. Flywheel was resurfaced and I was extra carefull about cleaning the FW and PP so there was NO grease/oil on them. Pedal effort is about 30-40% more than stock but it's not bad at all.

Well, I guess congratulations lol. Just kidding. What are the components usually associated with clutch chatter. I have never known what exactly causes it....

you will only get clutch chatter if you have worn motor mounts

Or a warped flywheel
Or a warped pressure plate
Or oil contamination on the clutch from a leaky rear main seal
Or a completely worn out clutch disk
Or glazed clutch components

Motor mounts really don't contribute to clutch chatter, However, they will make it more noticeable.

Thats why it's called clutch chatter, not motor mount chatter.

Where do you think most people/shops go wrong that install or have the ACT installed on their max? Seems like more people with ACTs complain about chatter than not.

Jeff....How difficult was the job??

My 2k2 has over 40,000 miles on it, and It "feels" like my clutch is going.

I'm just wondering what kind of $$$ this is going to cost me.

Well this was just a little part of the whole job. I replaced my motor so I just did the clutch at the same time

It's not hard for me considering I've done this about 5 times now. It's more time consuming than anything.

Glad you got everything up and going, Jeff. How's the "new" VE?

.......and when can I expect the first oil sample results?

It's great. Very smooth. There used to be a noticable "switch" when the VTC rotated the cams but on this one there is none.

I used the other Napa filter I had and just used Castrol for this first fill. I plan to short change this interval at 2,500 or 3,000 or so and maybe go back up to Amsoil since my local GI Joes carries it in stock for a decent price.
