Starting problems.....help!

My max wouldn't start this morning. 1st crank, started, as soon as it started, it died. Gave it another crank and wouldn't start. It just kept cranking and wouldn't start. The lights worked fine so I'm guessing its not the battery/alternator. Was running late to work so I forgot to try giving some gas and starting it. I was having a grinding noise before when starting the car in cold mornings and that consisted for about 2 months. I thought it was the alternator but after reading some past threads doesn't sound like the alternator or am I wrong? I have 115k miles and I'm pretty sure the starter nor my alternator haven't been replaced (have to double check).

Thanks for you help....

Starter isn't working.

1. Replace starter yourself $80-200 depending on where you get the starter.
2. Have mechanic replace it $200-300 depending on where
3. Try regreasing it. www.motorvate.ca

Fuel - Check your fuel pump fuse and fuel filter.

Electronic - Crank sensor failure, check the ECU for codes.

Stupid stuff - Make sure it's not flodded with fuel, crank it with your foot on the floor. Also make sure you have gas in the tank!

For the fuel pump fuse and fuel filter, what am I checking for? How do I know if the fuse is bad, will it throw a code for that?

There is gas in the car and will crank it with my foot on the floor and check for codes when I get home.

When I got home, the car started after giving it gas while cranking, then got the engine light, and got the 0901 code (Front right htd O2 sensor heater). I got the code couple of months ago for both the front 02 sensors and replaced it and its only been couple of months and I got this 0901 code. Well I replaced the front right sensor again and the car felt stronger in the low end and it stopped idleing at 400-500rpms but I am still getting the 0901 code.

The car starts fine now, no problems but still got the engine light on after I reset it couple of times giving me the same code. Please help?!?

Thanks for the advice...
