Finally got my lighting up to org standards

Starting with clearing the tails a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to numerous "how-to's" (thanks Cheston, SprintMax and others), it didn't take too long. Used the oven method, and it worked like a charm. Once they were back on the car, I couldn't believe what a difference it made! The Max is starting to look secksy Of course, I forgot to get amber bulbs, so I just unhooked the driving lights and left the clear corner bulbs in place.

Last week, I bought some clear corners off Ebay for $30 shipped. I installed these today (took all of 5 min) and then went shopping for a new amber bulbs for the tails. While I was at Checker, I also picked up a pair of Silverstars. It was dark by the time I got home and got everything stuck into the right sockets. Perfect time for a lightshow!

I dragged my wife out into the 10' weather so she could, um, "verify" the proper operation of all the lights. Of course I was trying to show off the blingin' new lights, but she was resolutely unimpressed and whacked me on the head before going back inside. I guess trying to impress the ladies with your car doesn't work even when you're married...

Anyways, IMHO the Max looks like a whole new car now. Haven't done much driving with the Silverstars, so nothing ot report there though they look awful nice on the car. I'm a bit concerned about bad weather performance, but I've still got the very yellow stock fogs so it should be all good. Hopefully I'll update and maybe have some pic too.

Short version--Cleared tails & clear corners: good. Silverstars: not sure yet. Impressing wife with car mods: pointless.

We do now...that means everyone must get clears for their Max, no matter what generation.

d'oh, almost forgot

now you need to do the clearence light mod
heh, almost forgot about that one. Quick ten-minute trip outside and... ah, much nicer

and before y'all go bounding off the deep end on my standards comment, I was thinking more along the lines of finally getting around to doing all the things I read about on the org.

BTW, I hopped in the car for a quick trip to the market, and the Silverstars were noticably brighter than the stockers around my neighborhood. And with the brights on, I was lighting up street signs four blocks away, which I hadn't really noticed being able to do before. Of course, I probably wasn't paying such close attention before either .
