Do any of you have the Pace setter short shifter?

I'm thinking about getting one from custommaxima but I want to make sure it is worthwhile. What are your opinions on the best short shifter?

Hey,

I have the pacesetter sts. I currently have it set at about 50% of max, and the throw is a lot shorter than stock. No longer do you have to row through the gears. The shifter just sort of snaps into gears. However, in the winter the shifter is a lot harder to shift. It gets stuck inbetween shifts. For example, most of the time I have to rev match going into second gear when the trans is cold. That could be due to the fact that my trans lube is due for a replacement though. Also, my downshifts are a bit rough especially going from 4th into 3rd. Keep in mind that all these little glitches only happen when it's cold outside. Other than that, I love the sts. Wouldn't have it anyother way. Just make sure not to set it more than 50% of max as everybody recommends on the org due to extra wear on the syncros.

Peace.

Does it make extra wear AT ALL on the synchros??

About how much shorter would you say it is now, between shifts?

1/4inch, 1/2, 1 inch etc...

Do you have any pics of it installed?

I have the B&M and i like the feel of that one too. Any sts will be better than stock. Just a personal preference.

i've had my pacesetter shifter since the early summer. it works really nice. it's on the shortest possible setting. super short clickety click shifts. no problems during the cold winter months. the only thing i notice is my clutch fluid is so cold the clutch pedal feels mushy until it warms up. you shouldn't have problems shifting it. it will take a little time getting used to the extra effort it takes to shift and the extra short throws. after that, it's second nature again. i would recommend learning how to properly match rev the engine when downshifting. i personally like to double clutch/matchrev every downshift, but that's just me.

The shifts are about 1.5x shorter than stock. I do rev match ever since I got the STS. Sometimes it just doesn't want to go in unless you position the shifter perfectly between the gate.

Peace.

Cool I think I'm going to get it.

i have a pacesetter STS also, only question i had is when driving the car cold the shifts are smooth as butter, but once the car warms up the shifts become sticky as tar!!! seems like the bearing is expanding due to the heat from the cat?? anybody have this same problem? any solutions? let me know? thanks

ive had mine for almsot 3 years now, ive had it at all diff settings, i have it about as low as it can go now, had it there for well over a year. it can take a decent amount of force to move it soemtiems, but it matches the clutch so i like it. i added a heavy knoba nd that made a huge difference, much nicer.
