Actually it's a good thing it's black. It's black because it is holding the particulates and taking them out of the car.

I can't tell if this is a real post, or if you are making fun of the thousand other oil change posts...

In the old days Mobil 1 had ads saying they ran NYC taxicabs using Mobil 1 even after they drained the oil with no significant damage. Dunno if it were true but maybe you proved it is!

They once almost refilled the oil in my cousins car without draining out the old oil. That would have been a mess.. Stupid Jiffylube.

Because some of us can take the weather and some of us can't. I roughed it out in 8 degree weather today. Only a few will be able to do that.

i'd rather not lay on the ground when its that cold. but I did wash and vaccuum my car the other day. and plus if something is free i'll probably use it.

first you said you are there..

second you say you are not allowed on the lift..

you know how long it takes to change oil? 5 mins..

30 secs... use 14 mm socket and wrench to remove drain bolt..

2 mins later.. remove oil filter....

3 mins 30 secs later... pour 1/2 qt of oil in engine .. just cause...

4 mins later... lube oil filter with new oil.. install oil filter.. hand tighten only....

4 mins 30 secs later... re-install drain bolt... tighten up with 14 mm socket and wrench..

5 mins.. refill the engine with oil..

you are telling me you are so god damn lazy to do a 5 min job? that and you live in NC so the temp is no where as cold as up here.. more over go tell that on the canadian forum.. let all the guys who change their oil in -20 below tells you how it feel..

and for that matter.. you don't have to be near the car while the oil is changing.. you pull the bolt.. leave.. come back.. take off the oil filter.. leave.. its so damn simple.. too simple for me to have somebody who i have no knowledge of what they are doing fck up my engine.. or my body kit on a lift .. like i seen happen here many times

You must be on the same oil change schedule as my sister in law.

She has a 98 Honda Accord EX, and changes hers every 30-40K miles, or when the oil light finally comes on, warning of low oil pressure, whichever comes first.

Lately we have been staying on her, and checking it to make sure its ok.

You guys are saying it's too cold out? When I was your age, I had to walk 5 miles, barefoot, uphill in 3 feet of snow just to get to the driveway, build an igloo around it to keep the blizzard and packs of wild dogs out, then change the oil in the dark while my backside got frostbite, and replace the drain plug with one I machined from scratch on a lathe!
