Just changed my oil and it was black!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but color doesnt' matter so i am not alarmed
so i figured since i was pulling down my syspension in this 8 degree weather.. i might as well change my oil..
well as it turns out.. i had about 3 tablespoons of oil left in my oil pan.. and my drain plug was loose
so fun fun fun.. on a side note.. the new Mobil1 is a whole lot thicker than the previous mobil1..

Because some of us can take the weather and some of us can't. I roughed it out in 8 degree weather today. Only a few will be able to do that.

i'd rather not lay on the ground when its that cold. but I did wash and vaccuum my car the other day. and plus if something is free i'll probably use it.

second you say you are not allowed on the lift..

you know how long it takes to change oil? 5 mins..
30 secs... use 14 mm socket and wrench to remove drain bolt..
2 mins later.. remove oil filter....
3 mins 30 secs later... pour 1/2 qt of oil in engine .. just cause...
4 mins later... lube oil filter with new oil.. install oil filter.. hand tighten only....
4 mins 30 secs later... re-install drain bolt... tighten up with 14 mm socket and wrench..
5 mins.. refill the engine with oil..
you are telling me you are so god damn lazy to do a 5 min job? that and you live in NC so the temp is no where as cold as up here.. more over go tell that on the canadian forum.. let all the guys who change their oil in -20 below tells you how it feel..
and for that matter.. you don't have to be near the car while the oil is changing.. you pull the bolt.. leave.. come back.. take off the oil filter.. leave.. its so damn simple.. too simple for me to have somebody who i have no knowledge of what they are doing fck up my engine.. or my body kit on a lift .. like i seen happen here many times
ummm...i am there. I can't use the lift. I don't live in NC. the person that changes my oil happens to be a very close friend and an excellent mechanic. why do you insist on assuming ****? you don't know me, period.
You must be on the same oil change schedule as my sister in law.
She has a 98 Honda Accord EX, and changes hers every 30-40K miles, or when the oil light finally comes on, warning of low oil pressure, whichever comes first.
Lately we have been staying on her, and checking it to make sure its ok.

so it leaked out
You guys are saying it's too cold out? When I was your age, I had to walk 5 miles, barefoot, uphill in 3 feet of snow just to get to the driveway, build an igloo around it to keep the blizzard and packs of wild dogs out, then change the oil in the dark while my backside got frostbite, and replace the drain plug with one I machined from scratch on a lathe!
