Met a TRUE Maxima fanatic today (long)

I was at the grocery store earlier tonight, and I parked next to a Sterling Mist 5th gen. I finished shopping and walked back to my car, and I noticed a lady, probably around 38-40 years old, loading groceries into the other Max. I pop my trunk and put my bags in the trunk, and she calls out to me, "So, besides the clear side lights, what else have you done to your car?"
I tell her about painting the calipers, changing the lighting... the obvious stuff.
She asks, "Anything under the hood?"
I tell her that I have an aftermarket intake, and a couple of suspension parts.
She says, "Yeah, I noticed that your car was lower than mine. Did you lower it yourself?"
I tell her yes, that a friend and I replaced the springs, and that I had installed a strut tower brace.
She asks, "So, does it drive any better?"
I say yes.
She peeks at my taillights and says, "Oh, yours is an SE. Is it a 2001?"
I say yes again.
She seemed genuinely interested in everything that I had done to the car, so I mentioned that my car was nothing compared to some of the guys on this Maxima website that I frequent. I told her about the .org, thinking that I might be able to bring this lady into the Maxima fold. Then came the statement that blew my mind...

She says, "You know, I've never owned any car except a Maxima. This one is my FIFTH one, and I'll probably always own one."

We made some small talk, chatted about the 6th gen, and I made sure to tell her how helpful everyone here CAN be, and invited her to come visit us sometime. She said she'd remember the website, and check it out when she had a chance.

Kind of long, I know, but I thought it was pretty cool of this lady to take such an interest in what I, and WE can do to our cars. And it was even cooler to know that she's probably got more experience with Maximas than most of the people here. She was a really nice person, and I hope she shows up here.

I never thought this post would get this many replies. Damn bunch of horn-dogs!!!

She was a MILF though! Beautiful, well-spoken, and driving OUR car!!! (Her... ahem... headlights appeared to be factory though!)

Oh, and by the way... of course she wanted me! Have you SEEN me??? Good thing I'm a happily married man.

Shoot, I had a lady tell me that my "Camry" looks very nice. Obviously I was like , but I kept all the sentiments to myself.

That's a pretty cool story. Hopefully she won't show up here, post one thread and get her head bitten off for a frequently asked question, and never come here again

Thats a pretty cool little random conversation. I used to get random car talk every now and then with my Acura. With the maxima, nobody looks twice as long as I remember to pull in somewhere with my stereo muted. Not usually from middle-aged women tho...just once standing at the pumps filling up.

Right ON. My mom loves hers, but she has had many different cars. She even had a 71 camaro lol.
Hehe...yeah, my mom will talk about cars with me here and there. "I used to have an MG, it was so much fun!" and "My dream car is a 3000GT VR-4", or things that make me raise my eyebrows here and there.

Then I let her drive my car (well, let her once) and proceed to watch in horror as she puts the clutch in and holds it for like, 200ft before a stop
Mom, mom, mom...

I lurked here for quite awhile before I signed up. I am here several times a day and i don't post much at all. I am getting ready to start on my first mods and I am sure I will end up asking stupid questions and get flamed for it....but I am here because I like my car and get most of the info I need from these forums. It would be nice to think that people would help me out because I have the same interest in Maximas.

MaXess, welcome. Enjoy the show, and ask any questions you like.

First mods IMO are FSTB, RSB, Intake, Y pipe. Not in that order, but thats how I did it.
