Camaro boys, I'm not running until I get my ACT in! Me and a few other guys are planning to go one day. It's the 2k SS 6spd guy, the 2k2 Lightning kid, and that LT1 camaro guy who dyno'ed at 297rwhp. He said he ran a 13.5 spinning through first gear. That sure is a crappy time for all the power he has. I'm afraid I would come in 3rd or 4th place..it's between me and the Lightning basically. Dave you need to come down here and i'll let you take my car through the quarter. The difference would be a mid-13 vs. a low 14. If your still planning on moving down here...

It's all just a guessing game unless you actually pull the engine and crank dyno it. But on Dynojet dynos, manual tranny cars see a "loss" of 15-17% typically. Erring conservatively, this puts Nigel at over 500 HP at the crank.

Nigel, those are very impressive numbers.

Having 170whp at 2k rpms is very impressive.

You are def. going to set/define the limits of a stock internal VQ. With your kind of power, putting it down will always present a problem. You should def. be good for 12's. Who knows with traction. Trust me, I can feel your pain on traction. I have AWD and I can spin all 4 in 1st and 2nd gear at any given speed.

Its all a guessing game till you hit the 1320.

I would love you see your trap speeds.

Great Job Nigel!
Something tells me Nigel will be the one to tell use exactly how much power the VQ30DE can handle.

Nigel,
If your goal is 500hp at the wheels, even with your built motor are you confident in the stock crank and block?

Do you really drive your car as a daily driver?

Please take care of the fuel and watch the timing. Consider going J&S safeguard! Man great numbers. I think in order to keep this motor alive is all in the tuning and if you can keep your foot out of it sometimes! hehe

OMG!!!!!

That is SICK!

Once you get the fuel tuned(hopefully before KABOOM) and the built engine is finished, it sure would be nice for you to do repeated floggings on the dyno to know how much the VQ internals can handle.

Woohooo! Synki man how are you doing? I haven't heard from you for ages! Hehe! I DO need traction. Any ideas on good tires ... I really need slicks, but they don't do so well on snow ... although it is 65 degrees today which is nuts for January weather!

As for J&S. I have been buzy and lazy and delivery took a while ... I was part of the group deal. I will install it as soon as I fiigure out my number 5 cylinder misfire. I don't think it is bad compression since it idles and runs nice and smooth. I put my stock plugs at stock gap back in so that might have something to do with it. I only put those back in to fire it up after last week's flood.

I may go to the track this year ... we'll see
