film on a 03 windshield
I have this "film" on my windshield that causes a glare in the sun. It has gotten better due to windshield wiper use....but is still there on the edges on the windshield. I've tired washing it off and it won't come off. Is there some sort of cleaner I can use???

You can use vinegar. It'll clean the widshield very well, but you don't want to use it on tinted windows.
Also, if it's just on the windshield, right before you are going to wash your car, pour a can of Coca-Cola across the top of the windshield and let it run down. No $hit, the acid in the Coke will eat that film right off. Like I said, you'll want to wash your car afterwards, but that's what you're doing anyway, right?
Hope this helps.

I clean the outside of my windows with toluene once a year. The glass is SUPER clean afterwards. I also apply rain-x to the exterior of all windows right afterwards. If you do as well, make absolutely sure you buff off as much of it as possible. Also, clean off your wipers with 100% alcohol every now and then.
If it's on the inside, clean non-tinted windows with any any glass cleaner, or vinegar, etc. If they are tinted, just use hot water and nothing else.

in the interior heat up and give off some of their gases, oils and
blah blah blah.
You'll probably notice that the film you still see is, as noted
earlier, on the inside of the window. You'll also probably notice
that it is outside of the area you generally sweep when cleaning the
inside of your glass. It pays to be a bit meticulous around the edge
and corner of each piece of glass. Stoner's glass cleaner works
very well in my opinion.
BTW, this is a huuuuuge problem for vehicles in AZ, where the heat
of late spring, summer and early fall destroys just about anything
in it's path. Why else would they pick places like Yuma, Mesa et. al
for their extreme-conditions testing.
Cheers,
JK
