Auto-dimming mirrors

I was wondering if there are outside auto-simming mirrors available for our cars. Is it just some sort of a film that can be glued on the OEM mirror? My bro wants to put one on his 96 4Runner, too.

Actually, in theory, this should be possible. There are films available that if you apply a voltage they turn darker. Not sure if anyone has ever marketed it for mirror dimming though. Wouldn't it be cool if you could have this film on your car windows?

Yikes....that stuff is hellishly expensive! But it would be cool. Better yet just get the glass that works the same way.
