ok.. I got Air horns...

being an idiot, just to test them.. i connected the compressor to the low horn (next to engine) connector to power the compressor.

it beeped once.. very weak, so it sank into my brain that i should not have wired a device such as a compressor to the low amp wireing of the low horn...

needless to say.. i wired everything correctly, but now..
1) the low horn won't work.
2) my Panic won't work

(I've wired the air horns completely separate from anything else, so i am just dealing with my panic and low horn wireing here now )

i checked fuses and relays.. everything seems to be ok
I even swapped relays and tested them on other systems ( like my wipers, etc. )

any suggestions ? i do not want to take to dealer.. too expensive.

horn thing

I have the stock horns in my car--and sometimes it isn't too loud when I honk it--how are those air horns?
are they expensive/ or similarly price as the regular horns?

It's got to be the fuse-->

Try a new fuse. If not, might be the horn itself. I did the same thing and all it did was blow the fuse.

Re: horn thing

hmm, i checked all the fuses for continuiti, even non related.... can fuses check out and still not let a charge through ?

it's not URGENT, but it is annoying not being able to use my panic to find my car sometimes in the parking lot

Re: Re: horn thing

You managed to do the exact same thing I did. Unfortunately, I still dont have an answer. Let me know what you find. Anybody with a OE wiring diagram? We need to know where the low horn connects through.

i had to replace three fuses in my car, since then it works fine..

Alarm (yhis must be the horn prob. remote works now)
Ignition (car would not turn on, other electricals worked fine)

Re: Re: Re: horn thing

Holy crap, my alarm hasnt been working since I did that... I checked the fuses and sure enough the 7.5 amp "theft deterrant" fuse was blown. Yikes.. but anyway, I replaced the fuse, and now its great. Infact, the horns sound very good with the high mechanical horn disconnected and the 2 airhorns and 1 low mechanical horn working. Thanks alot!
