Weird stalling idle

Hey Everyone.

I picked up a used 2000 Maxima SE about a week ago, tonight on my way to the gym and back I noticed when I was revving 2000rpm+ and put it in neutral (5spd) the idle would drop past 500rpm, engine would start to get rough and the dash lights would dim just slightly for a 1/2 second, then return to normal, and 500 rpm solid. Performance never changed or anything like that and it never would actually stall. Now, I hadn't driven the car i almost 48 hours. Last time I drove it was around -10C, then all yesterday it was +4C and ****ed rain, was very damp etc. and today and tonight the temp dropped to -30C (Canada sux)... Is it possible there is frozen moisture somewhere, fuel line? injectors? intake???? Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Probably just dirrty tb and iacv. Clean them out with a good o2 sensor safe tb cleaner and you should be fine.

tb?? iacv?? sorry what about the maf? Maybe I'm being paranoid as I've only had it a week, but I don't recall the rpm dropping past 500 down to around 300 then going back up again... Could it be octane related???

Throttle body, and idle air control valve. Unless you've physically damaged your maf, or screwed around with the electronics of it, I highly doubt you have a MAF problem, unless you have one of the US built Maximas that had a few with MAF problems.

I would definetly check out the tb and iacv first though. It costs nothing but a can of tb cleaner. And odds are, your car needs these parts cleaned anyways.
