From what I can tell->
it's about the same. The VE intake cam is advanced about 8-9 degrees at higher rpm. I'd have to check to be 100% though. Look like the advancing gives more overlape for better breathing?
hmmm...
Actually that is with the VTC not engaged. Here is another page that shows how the VTC affects the cam timing. It appears that when the VTC is on (II) the valve overlap increases. My next question is how does the cam timing compare? What is the A-F values for the VE? I believe the exhaust cams should be the same. Also I believe Coz can get you intake cams from a Z32 for a cheap price.
I'll have to look at the manual->
I hear some custom crap(ie. grinding or whatever) is needed to put the Z32 cams in the VE. I never could get a "straight" answer from anyone. Bryan or otherwise.
I was thinking about contacting Coz for some Z stuff. Seems like a real stand-up guy.

It seems like you shouldn't have to do any grinding to the cams. However the VG30DE cams use a belt sprockets vs the timing chain of the VE30DE. I don't know if that in itself would cause a problem or not. But if your timing sprockets fit the Z32 cams and your VTC still engages then it shouldn't be any problems.
